You’re told over and over that you should boost your immune system, but how can you actually do that? Getting 8 hours of sleep just is NOT possible, your to-do list is 3 pages long (aka NO extra time!) and apparently water doesn’t drink itself!
So, you grab whatever “immunity” vitamin bottle you can see first that seems decent before your kids see the “gummies”. Problem with that? Well, there’s actually quite a few…
Unfortunately, that immune boosting pill is most likely full of fillers & then whatever “medicinal/active ingredients” are synthetic versions. Next, comes the issue of not actually being absorbed properly by your body anyhow! (previous blog post on supplements here https://essentiallyjamie.com/are-supplements-necessary/)
Now, this part may come as a surprise; you don’t want your immune system to be amped up… You want it to be STRONG and BALANCED! That runny nose, cough, fever, etc are signs that your immune system is at work fighting off a virus or bacterial infection. If that immune system goes on steroids you’d be running a fever on the toilet while going through a box of tissues every hour!
Ok, maybe an over exaggeration, but you get my point, right?!
I thought you said to boost my immune system… Now you’re telling me NOT too?!
Alright, so maybe I titled this post a little oddly! You DO need to boost your immune system, but this is assuming that your immune system is less than balanced (as most are!). You need a boost and then the tools to be able to support and sustain that God given germ fighting machine that your body carries!
On to the HOW of this post! YES your body needs rest, water, nutritious food, lowered stress, etc, but I’m going to tell you how to support your immune system with essential oils in a way that anyone can do; no matter how busy or tired you are!
Ready? Take a roller bottle, drop in your essential oils, top with your carrier oil and swipe onto the bottom of your feet at night. Honestly… that’s IT! Obviously there’s certain essential oils that provide that amazing support better than others. Here’s a few we use daily (not every single one!)
Lemon, cinnamon, rosemary, clove, eucalyptus, marjoram, peppermint, lavender, tea tree & oregano. Making it even more simple – we use a blend called “Thieves” that has cinnamon, clove, rosemary, eucalyptus & lemon!
Most days I forget to use the roller at night, so I use it on the back of the neck as we’re walking out the door for school! Clove, cinnamon & oregano are all “hot” oils so make sure they’re diluted and you’ve tested a patch before swiping on your kiddos!
